What is social networking

If asked the question “what is social networking” many people would give a raft of different answerers. Social networking though in the true sense of the word as it relates to the web, is not necessarily the sharing of audurbs and cocktails by groups of people in gatherings. Even though social networking on the web is sits similar to real life networking there are still some noted differences between the two. Social networking is the grouping of people into communities or subdivisions that are all interdependent on each other for different things. Examples of these dependencies are: social friendships, intimate relationship acquaintances etc. Social networking usually takes place were ever numbers of people gather and interacts. Places like churches, schools, the work place, clubs and other such events are all examples of the places people would network.

The internet experience take social networking to much of a different level, as now you have the same people who would gather in these small place to interact, connecting with others at even the very last corners of the globe. This is nothing short of phenomenal. Can you imagine being able to interact with other people where ever in the world they are as long as they have a computer and an internet connection? This could afford a person in say Alaska or similar areas to interact with someone in as far away as Chile. This networking not only afford them the chance of becoming friends with each other, but it can also help either one to learn a lot about the other person’s country, be it their culture, politics and so many other things.
